Fishing Gear

We offer clients a wide range of sport fishing that involve trolling, casting and jigging in NZ for yellowtail kingfish, trevally, snapper, kahawai, tuna and hapuka to name just a few of the species that we target.

In Vanuatu there are a multitude of islands and mounts that are virtually untouched. Besides offering famous marlin fishing we also target yellow fin, GT, dogtooth, Wahoo and sailfish to name a few species that are readily available. Saltwater fly-fishing around for a variety of inshore reef species is becoming popular and guests are welcome to bring their own fly gear onboard.

Fishing will be conducted from four vessels - Island Passage itself for trolling between destinations and jigging/casting over reefs or when anchored up at night, two 7.2 metre Marco centre console /centre cab tenders and a 7.5 metre Commando ‘landing craft’. The centre cabin will be set up with outriggers for blue water trolling. Additional game boats will be available on request and quality Shimano and terminal tackle is provided on a replace if damaged or lost basis.
